Like any bona fide clas sic, the Fritchie has stood the test of time. The Fritchie is held at The Great Fred er ick Fairgrounds. It is the old est run ning half mile in the country.
It’s a Fourth of July tra di tion in Fred er ick. But when it started, the race wasn’t even held on the Fourth. The Fritchie ran Memo r ial Day. And back then, it was called the Delphey Broth ers Clas sic, pro moted by J. Paul and Chester Delphey. Race Day Info.
